Abstract

The need for internet access is currently very high. One example of the high need for internet access, namely the increasing demand for internet services in various places, such as offices, schools, as well as in other public places, but there are various threats that often occur, especially on LAN network connections, especially from the security aspect. Examples of security aspects that often occur in LAN networks include irresponsible users by illegally accessing the network, as well as many network terminations by irresponsible users, causing a lot of harm to users. To fulfill several aspects of security in using this network, there is a private network connection, namely PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet). PPPoE in its use, only those who have a username and password can connect to the internet, where PPPoE has a security feature in the form of an authentication process that can be a solution to the problem of many illegal accesses in LAN network connections. In addition, PPPoE will also hide MAC addresses from hosts on the network so that other hosts cannot run or terminate illegally on the network.
