Abstract

Persian cats are one of the animals that are susceptible to disease, because of their unique physical form Persian cats require special care where care that is not optimal can cause Persian cats to develop various types of diseases, especially skin diseases. In some types of skin diseases experienced by Persian cats can be dangerous for their owners, but not a few of Persian cat owners do not know the symptoms and solutions for handling each skin disease experienced by Persian cats. In order to get treatment earlier. So, an expert system was developed to help determine the type of skin disease experienced by Persian cats which consisted of 5 skin diseases. From the acquisition of knowledge by an expert, 28 symptoms were found and produced 5 rules which were represented using a decision table. The skin disease tracking method uses forward chaining, while to handle the uncertainty that arises, the certainty factor method from the MYCIN application is used. To make it easier for users, the system is made on a web-based basis. Based on the results of the implementation of the system, the sensitivity value is 5.0%, the accuracy value is 95.0% and the results of the 92.0% questionnaire indicate that this expert system is able to determine skin diseases in Persian cats with certainty factor values, treatment solutions and descriptions of skin diseases.
