Abstract

ABSTRACT Andi Kasim Sosa Hasibuan (174110107) Effect of Banana Stem Bokashi and KCl Fertilizer on Growth and Production of Upright Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), under the guidance of Mr. Ir. Zulkifli, MS. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was carried out for 3 months, starting from December 2020 to February 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Bokashi Batang Banana and KCl fertilization on upright bean plants both interactively and primarily. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the dose of Bokashi Banana Stem 0, 1, 2, 3 kg/plot and KCl doses of 0, 7,5, 15, 22.5 g/plot. Thus obtained 16 treatment combinations with three replications, so there are 48 experimental units. In each plot there were 6 plants with 3 plants as samples which were determined randomly. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, number of productive branches, harvest age, number of pods per plant, pod weight per plant, longest pod length and number of remaining pods. The data from the observations of each treatment were statistically analyzed and continued with the further test of Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction between Bokashi Batang Pisang and KCl fertilizer had a significant effect on the observed parameters of plant height, number of productive branches and pod length. The best treatment was giving banana stem bokashi 2 kg/plot and KCl 15 g/plot (B2K2). The main effect of banana stem bokashi had a significant effect on all observed parameters. The best treatment was giving banana stem bokashi 2 kg/plot (B2). The main effect of KCl fertilizer had a significant effect on all observed parameters. The best treatment was administration of KCl 15 g/plot (K2).
