Abstract

ABSTRAK Inggit Piandari (194121003), this research is entitled Inventory of Termites and Plant Types Attacked in the Islamic University of Riau and the Efficacy of the Fungus Metarhizium anisopliae in Handling. Ir. Saripah Ulpah, M.Sc as supervisor I and Dr. Ir. T. Edy Sabli, M.Si as supervisor II. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of termites that attack plants around the Islamic University of Riau and to test the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae as an environmentally friendly termite control. The research design consisted of 2 stages, namely a survey of termite attack mapping in the Riau Islamic University campus area and Testing the Effectiveness of Metarhizium anisopliae in controlling termites. The parameters observed were as follows: Type and Number of Plants attacked, Types of Termites attacked, Spore Density of Metarhizium anisopliae, Spore Viability of Metarhizium anisopliae (%), Mortality Percentage (%) and Mortality Time (days). The type of termites that attack the Riau Islamic University area is Coptotermes curvignathus with the highest number of plants on Mangifera indica L. Metarhizium anisopliae spore density is 1.65 x 108 with 82.8% spore viability (M1) resulting in the best death time of 1.50 days and the mortality percentage was 99.17% in the third dilution. The spore density of Metarhizium anisopliae added with 10% zeolite was 3.5 x 107 with spore viability of 90.3% (M2) resulting in a death time of 2.50 days and a mortality percentage of 75.12%. Meanwhile, without treatment (M0), the time of death was 5.25 days and the mortality percentage was 20.00%.
