Abstract

EFFECT OF EMPLOYEE COMPETENCY ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT THE SECRETARIAT OF THE REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE BOARD PELALAWAN DISTRICT ABSTRACT By : WIRDA HARMANITA Government agencies are organizations that have a variety of goals. Activities within government agencies are always directed to achieve predetermined goals. Effective and directed utilization of human resources is the key to improving employee performance for organizations that carry out their activities, both local and central governments, within organizations or government agencies there are factors that affect employee performance, one of which is through work competence. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the competence and performance of employees at the Secretariat of the Regional People's Representative Council of Pelalawan Regency and their influence. The method used is descriptive and quantitative; The sample is 66 employees. Data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation as well as descriptive data analysis through a quantitative approach. The results of this study are the results of respondents' responses regarding work competencies at the Secretariat of the Regional House of Representatives of Pelalawan Regency in the agreed category, this indicates that in work, work competencies are determined according to the abilities and needs of employees. The results of respondents' responses regarding performance at the Secretariat of the Regional House of Representatives of Pelalawan Regency in the agreed category, this indicates that in working employees can feel satisfied with what is given by the agency, it can be in the form of appropriate work competencies and a comfortable work environment. There is a significant effect of the work competence variable on the performance variable at the Secretariat of the Regional Representative Council of Pelalawan Regency.
