Abstract
Early marriage is a marriage carried out by a man and a woman who have not reached the age limit that has been set, namely 19 years. The purpose of marriage is to obtain offspring in order to continue living together in a sakinah, mawaddah, warohmah household. However, in reality there are many legal consequences and incompatibility that occurs between husband and wife in running the household, which in the end causes the marriage goal not to be achieved and makes it difficult for oneself in the household which ends up being difficult to access in every document management and resulting in a big divorce. So that the problem in this study is what are the legal consequences that occur after underage marriages, and how the social impacts will arise after underage marriages. This research method uses normative juridical research methods. Normative juridical research supported by interview data with informants. Sources of data used are secondary data and primary data and analyzed using a qualitative approach. The results of the Legal Consequences research on early marriage in the study of the Office of Religious Affairs, namely the Legal Consequences of underage marriage will make it difficult to manage Documents such as family cards, child certificates, and even assistance in the village because the family does not have a marriage certificate. Families who experience economic difficulties tend to marry off their children at a young age, this marriage is expected to be a solution to the economic difficulties experienced by families, marriage is expected to reduce the family's economic burden. The occurrence of pregnancy out of wedlock because the children have a relationship that violates the norms forcing them to have an early marriage in order to clarify the child conceived by this marriage forces them to marry. forced circumstances due to an accident in the relationship before marriage that forced the young marriage to occur, and because the age has not yet reached adulthood (his mind is still unstable and is underage) so that the KUA does not want to issue a marriage certificate which results in difficulty in managing Family Cards and other documents . Early marriage also has a physical impact on the household economy because at the age of teenagers they are still unable to support their own family, while economic factors are factors that improve the welfare of the household. In this problem, there are efforts to overcome the increase in early marriage by understanding family science to further improve public understanding of underage marriage, namely by conducting socialization to the community which is carried out effectively and continuously.
