Abstract
Sencano Jaya Village is a village that is still in a backward condition and a village that has a level of education that is in a developing stage. In terms of physical and non-physical development, it is still far from other villages in Batang Peranap sub-district, so Sencano Jaya village really needs participatory village assistants. This will be a concern for village assistant officers to accelerate the improvement of development in the village, because participatory village assistants are needed for the success of village development. Based on the problems described above, one of the efforts that can be done to improve the development of the Sencano Jaya village area is to prepare village assistants who have good and effective competencies. The purpose of this study is to find out village assistants in carrying out participatory village development tasks in Sencano Jaya Village, Batang Pranap District, Indragiri Hulu Regency and the obstacles. The methods used are descriptive and qualitative methods; The informants in this study were the Village Secretary, Head of Government, Head of Village Development Planning and Head of BPD. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. This study concludes that the evaluation of village assistants in carrying out participatory village development tasks in Sencano Jaya Village, Batang Peranap District, Indragiri Hulu Regency is in the less implemented category. This can be seen from the development that has not been completed in accordance with the established program. The obstacles that occur are the existence of people who do not participate in carrying out development programs and the length of disbursement of funds so that development programs cannot run smoothly. In the Sencano Jaya Village Community organization, Batang Peranap District, there are still members who are less active in the development program.
