Abstract

This study aims to: (1) The characteristics of oil palm farmers and traders (2) Analyze the use of production facilities, production costs, production, income and efficiency (3) Analyze marketing institutions, marketing functions, marketing channels, marketing costs, marketing profits, margins marketing, farmer's share and marketing efficiency in Tandun District, Rokan Hulu Regency. The study was conducted for 6 months starting from August to January 2020. The method used was the survey method. Sampling was carried out by simple random sampling consisting of 54 oil palm farmers. The results showed that the average age of 47.69 years, length of education 10.07 years, the number of family dependents 3.07 people and 15.22 years experience. While oil palm traders are 50.25 years old, 9.33 years old education, 17.77 years experience and family dependents 3.6 people. Urea fertilizer production facilities are 178.23 kg / ha, KCl 133.92 kg / ha, NPK 62.84 kg / ha, Dolomite fertilizer 186.47 kg / ha, TSP 57.72 kg / ha and Phonska 11.67 kg / ha. The use of labor is 24.34 HKP / ha / year consisting of family laborers of 4.5 HKP / ha / year and 19.8 HKP / ha / year outside of family labor. The average production cost is Rp. 18,655,663.71 / ha / year with the total production produced 14,400 kg / ha / year, with an average gross income of Rp. 54,114,666.67 / ha / year and a net income of Rp. 35,459 .002.71 / ha / year and RCR of 2.80. Marketing institutions involved include: farmers, traders and factories. The marketing functions performed by traders include: sales, purchases, transportation, capital, storage, risk management, market information, standardization or grading. There are two marketing channels for oil palm, channel I: Farmer - Mill. Channel II: Farmers - Collector Traders - Factories. The average marketing cost of channel I is 57 Rp / kg and the average marketing cost of channel II is 47 Rp / kg. Marketing profit 217 / kg. Collector trader marketing margin of Rp. 274 / kg. farmer share of farmers 76.03%. The efficient marketing of TBS in Tandun Subdistrict is channel II where it can be seen the efficiency value of channel II is 4.12.
