Abstract

Low production results in low household income, low income results in low household expenditure so that household needs have not been met. This study aims to: (1) Determine the characteristics of gambier entrepreneurs in Mungka Subdistrist, Lima Puluh Regency, West Sumatera Province, (2) Analyze the level of income and expenditure of gambier businessman households in Mungka Subdistrict, Lima Puluh, West Sumatera Province, (3) Analyze factors-factors affecting household expenditure of gambier entrepreneurs in Mungka District, Lima Puluh Regency, West Sumatera Province. This research was conducted in Mungka Subdistrict, namely in the villages of Talang Maur, Simpang Kapuak and Sungai Antuan Village, in November to April 2020. Theresearch method used survey methods. Samples were taken deliberately, as many as 75 respondents. The results of the study of the characteristics of respondents gambier entrepreneurs in Mungka District with an average age of respondents 43,5 years, length of education 7,16 years, the number of family members 3,96 people, business experience 19,88 years, and land area 2,85 Ha. The total average household income of gambier entrepreneurs is Rp. 113.397,893 / year. The average total expenditure of gambier businessman households is Rp. 23.145,310 / year. The average food consumption expenditure is IDR 10.626.432,32 / year. The average non-food consumption expenditure is IDR 23.145,310 / year. From the estimation of the gambier household expenditure model in gambung sub-district, Mungka District, Lima Puluh City, West Sumatera Province, shows that the factors that influence household expenditure are significant or (have a significant effect), namely: the number of family members and education, while for income and savings are not significant (not have a real impact). Gambier household expenditure expenditure response to income, number of family members, education and dummy work in elastic. Changes in household income will result in large changes to gambier business households’ expences.
