Abstract

Activities extraction of geothermal fluids produced can't be separated from the problems that interfere with the flow of fluid into the production pipeline. This distraction causes a decrease in well production. Based on the analysis of the YES-1 well production data from 2019 to 2021, production decreased by 25% per year, above the normal decline of 4%. To find out the cause of the decline and to determine the condition of the well, the wellbore was checked using a running dummy tool in the form of a PTS survey. From the logging tool, it was found that there were obstacles at a depth of 737 mMD and 1135 mMD. To ensure the existing obstacles, a running tool in the form of a sample catcher is carried out, which is a special tool installed on the wireline line (braided line: 5 1/16 inch) which aims to take samples from the wellbore. Based on laboratory, the samples were identified in the form of silica scale dominance. So the purpose of this study case is to clear the obstacles in the YES-1 wellbore by using Coiled Tubing Unit (CTU) technology combined with the jetting method and evaluate the achievement of changes in production rates using the results of the production data test from the orifice tool. The CTU technology used is CTU 2 3/8 inch with a combination of 12 nozzles jetting (side jet) + 4 nozzles (down jet) and only 16 nozzles (down jet). The use of the CTU-Jetting combination can pass obstacles that exist at a depth of 737 mMD and 1135 mMD to a depth of 1210 mMD. Not only deepening the depth of the existing wellbore, it also indicates a loss of obstacles, but also a significant increase in well production, namely an increase of about 32 kg/s from the previous well production of only about 10 kg/s at a wellhead pressure (WHP) of 12 bar.
