Abstract

Congestion also often occurs in the intersection area. One of them is the intersection under the overpass Jalan Sudirman-Jalan Nangka. The intersection is a signalized intersection with a large intensity, which is always passed by the traffic of vehicles. This area is included in a dense area because it is a central office and trade area. On the u-turn Jl. Sudirman towards Jl. Pattimura traffic jams often occur so that vehicles from the direction of Jl. Jackfruit to Jl. Sudirman-Jalan Pattimura-Jl. Marpoyan experienced vehicle delays during rush hour. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics and performance of traffic at the signalized intersection under the overpass Jalan Sudirman-Jalan Nangka Pekanbaru. The method used is direct observation, measurement and calculation at the location for three days, namely Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday which is carried out at peak hours, namely at 08.00-10.00, 12.30-14.30 and 16.00-18.00 WIB. Data analysis using the 1997 MKJI method. The research location is at the intersection under the overpass Jalan Sudirman-Jalan Nangka Pekanbaru. The results obtained are the performance of the intersection under the overpass Jalan Sudirman-Jalan Nangka Pekanbaru obtained that the condition of the intersection has a good performance. The highest degree of saturation (DS) is on Monday 8 November 2021 with a DS value = 0.58 and the lowest value is 0.375 on Saturday with a Southern approach. This shows that the value of the degree of saturation is still below the limit of the degree of saturation, which is 0.6 which indicates that it is free flow with low traffic volume and high speed.
