Abstract

Concrete has the advantage of very high strength, but concrete has the disadvantage that it is easy to crack. The quality of the concrete will affect the water-cement factor contained in the concrete. The high quality of concrete will affect the water-cement concrete factor. A small watercement factor value will produce good concrete strength and produce a lot of cement paste. Concrete mixtures that use a large cement-water factor value will require less cement paste. Concrete is very usceptible to the formation of cracks, due to the presence of cracks can compromise durability, so that the need for repairs and maintenance on the concrete. The solution for repairing concrete cracks is by utilizing microorganisms that make cracks in concrete recover and close again. This study aims to see the effect of vegetable waste extract on concrete with water cement ratio 0.6 using the Self Healing Concrete method. The research method used is experimental, namely to see the effect of certain treatments on other variables under controlled conditions. The treatment referred to in this research is the method of self-healing concrete on concrete with water cement ratio 0.6. The research was conducted by mixing vegetable waste extract into a concrete mortar, using cube specimens, variants of vegetable waste extract 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% as a partial replacement of cement and each variant amounted to 3 samples of test objects. The concrete is planned to be 28 days old and the ample test is in the form of compression test and crack recovery test. Based on the analysis, the compressive strength of the self-healing concrete method with FAS 0.6 was tested for 28 days of age and after the concrete was cracked, the compressive strength of the concrete was in the 2% variant, which was 25,769 MPa and 28,084 MPa or an increase of 0.786 MPa and 3,062 Mpa compared to concrete without vegetable waste that is equal to 24,983 Mpa. The results of visual observations of crack healing in concrete for 28 days showed the changes that occurred by closing the cracks in the concrete in the 6% and 8% variants.
