Abstract

PHENOMENOLOGY STUDY OF 80’S CITYPOP MUSIC LISTENER AMONG WHATSAPP GROUP CLASSIC I&J POP ENJOYERS MEMBERS KHAIRUL RIJAL 189110130 Music is also called the Universal language because it can be enjoyed by various groups of nations, races and various other aspects of life which can ultimately build a caused by music. Reported from Kompasiana.com, Citypop music was present in the decade of the 80s in Japan, where at that time the country was being influenced by American pop culture, but combined with several Japanese artworks, in the visualization, Citypop is decipted with a city atmosphere at night, with lights Colorful city lights, supported by technological advances at the time (Kompasiana.com). This study aims to determine the phenomenon of listening to citypop music in the 80s era among members of the Whatsapp Classic I&J Pop Enjoyers group, the object of this research is music from the 80s originating from Japan, this study uses a qualitative method with Alfred Schutz’s Theory of Phenomenology. By collecting data conducting interviews with 5 informants. The results of this study indicate that in Because of Motives there is Nostalgia of the 80s and know it from Youtube, then in order Motives there is expressing themselves and adding friendship
