Abstract

This research is motivated by the patriarchal culture that often occurs in society, thus making gender inequality a topic of conversation. Gender differences have an influence on differences in status, roles between men and women, work, obligations, which will lead to gender inequality and injustice for women. an. Violence and injustice are often felt by women in various aspects such as politics, economy, social, education, culture, health, environment. community and family environment. It doesn't just happen directly but also into the literature found in stories such as ti novels that indirectly give a bad depiction or corner women. Mills introduced a discourse analysis model to detect how women are represented in a discourse. Therefore, the researcher conducted research on a novel with the theme of women, namely the novel Perempuan Yang Menuntungi Zaman by Khairul Jasmi. Based on this background, a question arises what is the position of the subject-object and the position of the reader in describing women in Khairul Jasmi's novel Perempuan Yang Menlalui Zaman? The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze, identify, interpret and conclude about the position of the subject-object and the position of the reader in describing women in Khairul Jasmi's novel Perempuan Menuntungi Zaman. The theory used in this research is Mills in Eriyanto and Darma. This study uses the method of content analysis, which is a descriptive method. The source of the data used is documentation in the form of a novel, namely Women Who Menuntungi Zaman by Khairul Jasmi. The results of this study can be concluded that in the novel Perempuan Yang Menuntungi Zaman there are 42 data positions of subject-object and readers. The results of this study are the position of the subject or narrator described in the novel Women Who Men Advance Age is Rahmah, Sa‟adah, Upik Hitam, Jamilah, Niara and the position of the object or told are Minangkabau women, Diniyyah Putri students, Bahauddin Latief, Women Entertainers, victims of Japanese colonialism, Jamilah fathers, Minangkabau men, indigenous people, Meneer and Upik Hitam all events that occurred What happens in the novel is a depiction of the statements of victims of violence, injustice, crime, women's resistance which in this case is women. The position of the reader is included to feel what the characters of Rahmah, Jamilah, Sa‟adah, Upik Hitam, and Niara are feeling. about the fate of herself and the women in the Minangkabau area who often experience acts of violence, injustice, exclusion from traditional circles, crime, and resistance by figures against perceived injustice.
