Abstract
Criminal law enforcement is one aspect of criminal politics as a component of a total crime prevention strategy. Law enforcement is a procedure for carrying out efforts for the proper functioning or establishment of legal rules as a guide for behavior in the life of the community, nation and state. Law enforcement has a main problem that lies in the elements that influence it. These elements are the law, law enforcement , facilities or facilities, society and culture. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the efforts of the police in law enforcement against theft with weight in the Kuansing Police Legal Area and what are the obstacle factors in implementing law enforcement against the crime of theft by weighting in the jurisdiction of the Kuansing Police. The author chose the type of research observational research by means of direct survey writers in order to obtain primary data and secondary data. In collecting data the authors interviewed several respondents, namely the Criminal Investigation Officer of the Kuansing Police and the perpetrators of theft. The results of the research that the author got, law enforcement efforts carried out at the Kuansing police station have been running in accordance with applicable laws but in the law enforcement process against the criminal act of theft by weighting there are still several obstacles in the field, namely the perpetrators often commit crimes by using number plate vehicles. Fake, no witnesses saw, lack of evidence, lack of community participation in providing information so that investigators find it difficult to know the chronology of events as well as people who are still negligent in maintaining their property
