Abstract
This study aims to find out directly how to study the organology of the Nafiri musical instrument and to document specifically the process of making the Nafiri musical instrument produced by Ahmad, Bantan Tua Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. according to Andre Schaeffner (in Tulus Hendra Kadir 2005:13) organology consists of Inventory, Terminology / Naming, Classification of Musical Instruments, Description of Musical Instrument Construction, Musical Sound Production, History of Musical Instruments, Functions of Musical Instruments, Socio-cultural Factors. This research uses descriptive analysis research using qualitative data. The data collection technique uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques, this study uses data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. From the results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that Nafiri was formerly given the name Nafir,
