Abstract

This research on the application of accounting was carried out in Pekanbaru City especially in Tenayan Raya District in the car wash business. As for the problem in this study is whether the accounting application used by the car wash business is in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting in carrying out the car wash business. The purpose of this research was to determine the suitability of the application of accounting by the car wash business in Tenayan Raya District, whether it is in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting. The data collected, namely primary data obtained directly from respondents through interviews and questionnaires to car wash owners in Tenayan Raya sub-district and secondary data obtained from respondents, namely financial report data, namely the daily record book of car wash business owners in Tenayan Raya district. The method used in this research is structured interviews to complement secondary data and documentation through taking documents in the form of diaries. Meanwhile, the data analysis used is descriptive method. Based on the results of the research and discussion it can be concluded that the application of accounting in the car wash business in Tenayan Raya District is not in accordance with the basic concept of accounting.
