Abstract

Education is a conscious guidance or leadership by educators on the physical aud spiritual development of sfudents towards the formation of the main personality. Teachers as educational staffplay a very important role in the leaming process, so a teacher must be creative in finding new things to achieve optimal learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to deterrnine the relationship between interest in learning and mathematics leaming outcomes of students at SDN 70 Pekanbaru. The problems that exist at SDN 70 Pekanbaru are: There are some students who are less enthusiastic in participating in nnathematics learning, some students carurot answer questions &om the teacher especially regarding analyical questions, Some students rutely ask or -restrnnd to questious from tcaehers or othcr students who submit their opinions, the assignments glven to students cannot be eompleted properly and correctly, and the S.rdents' little interest in exact mathematics lessons, especially because it contains a lot of calculations. From the results of data processing, it was found that there was a relationship between interest in leaming and student learning outcomes in mathematics acsording to the results of hypothesis testing where tcouat was greater than ttable (tr,i*g : 1.755 and ttuu"r : 1.677\. And the influence of interest in learning on student learning outcomes is 5.77a/a and 94.3Yo student leaming outcomes can be influenced by other factors.
