Abstract
This study is motivated by the real problems of teachers’ performance at MTs Al- Ikhwan in Pekanbaru City. The signs of these problems are: the teachers lack of mastery of learning materials, some teachers are less disciplined and less skilled in conveying the lessons. The problem formulation of this study is whether there is an influence of principal’s motivation on teachers’ performance at MTs Al-Ikhwan in Pekanbaru City. The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is an influence of the principal's motivation on the teachers’ performance at MTs Al-Ikhwan in Pekanbaru City. The type of this study is quantitative reseach with a correlation approach. The total sample of this study consists of 27 teachers. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling, which takes all the total number of the population because it is less than 100 respondents. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The results of this study show that the hypothesis that states there is an influence of principal’s motivation on teachers’ performance is accepted with a significance value is less than 0.05 or 0.002 <0.05, thus the hypothesis is accepted. The magnitude of the influence of the principal's motivation on the teachers’ performance can be seen from the R Square value (0.326 or 32.6%) which is included in the low category, while 64.4% of the teachers’ performance is influenced by other factors.
