Abstract

Marriage is a sacred bond or relationship and involves two people and unites two individuals who come from different families, different traits, habits and cultures. Emotional maturity is a condition or condition that reaches a maturity level of emotional development, where individuals are able to control their emotions. Individuals who can control themselves tend to have a good level of emotional maturity and self-adjustment. This study aims to determine whether there is a positive relationship between emotional maturity and adjustment in early marriage. The subjects in this study were 266 people. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. The data collection method used the Emotional Maturity scale and the Adjustment scale. The data analysis technique uses product moment correlation. Based on the product moment analysis, the correlation coefficient value r = 0.708 with a significance of 0.000 (p <0.05). This shows that there is a significant positive relationship between emotional maturity and adjustment in early marriage. It can be interpreted that the lower the emotional maturity, the lower the adjustment in early marriage.
