Abstract

The study was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru. The research was carried out for three months starting in July - September 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of interaction and the main influence of the application of compost Vermi fertilizer and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and production of edamame soybean plants. The experimental design used was a 4 x 4 factorial Completely Randomized Design. The first factor was giving Vermi Compost (V) fertilizer with a dose of 0, 500, 1000, 1500 g / plot and the second factor giving NPK Fertilizer 16:16:16 (N) with a dose 0, 15, 30, 45 g / plot so that there are 16 combinations of each combination repeated 3 times to obtain 48 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, relative growth rate, flowering age, age of harvest, number of crop pods, number of pith pods, percentage of pod pods, crop dry weight, weight of 100 dried seeds, harvest index. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance followed by a BNJ follow-up test of 5% level. The results showed the interaction of vermi compost and NPK 16:16:16 effect on plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of crop pods, number of pods, pith percentage, pod weight, dry weight of seeds per plant, and dry weight of 100 seeds. The best combination of treatment with vermi compost with a dose of 1500 g / plot and NPK 16:16:16 30 g / plot (V3N2). The main influence of giving vermi compost and NPK 16:16:16 affect all parameters, where the best treatment is on giving compost vermi 1500 g / plot (V3) and NPK 16:16:16 30 g / plot (N2).
