Abstract

This research was carried out to find out the cause of student’s learning difficulties in Sains learning of The First Grade Students in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Siak Hulu Kabupaten Kampar Riau in the Academic Year 2019/2020. This research was a qualitative and quantitative approach. The method used in this research was survey and the data were collected through questionnaires, observations and interviews. The sample of this research is 40 peoples of male gender and 36 of female gender. The questionnaire consists of 34 questions. So, the result achieved is based on the opinion of each respondent about student’s learning difficulties in biology lerning. The result achieved are: for male gender, the internal indicators get a difficult category (72,07%) with the highest sub-indicator being the health of students in taking Sains lessons, the category was very difficult (82,55%). Furthermore, external indicators get a difficult category (67,73%) with the highest sub-indicator are friends getting along difficult category (79,38%). Whereas for female gender, the internal indicators are in the difficult category (66,57%) with the highest sub indicator is the talent possessed by students in taking Sains lessons getting a difficult category (71,30%). Furthermore, external indicators get a difficult category (67,65%) with the highest sub-indicator, the teacher assessment policy received a difficult category (70,49%).The factors that cause student learning difficulties in male gender in science learning for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Siak Hulu for internal indicators the average percentage is 72.07% in the difficult learning difficulties category, while for external indicators the average percentage is 67 , 73% fall into the difficult learning difficulties category. The factors that cause student learning difficulties in female gender in science learning for VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Siak Hulu for internal indicators the average percentage is 66.57%, which falls into the category of difficult learning difficulties. Meanwhile, for external indicators the average percentage is 67.65% which fall into the category of difficult learning difficulties.
