Abstract

Josua Purba (154110443), The Effect of Palm Oil and NPK Organic Liquid Waste on Growth and Production of Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia L). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the interaction of Palm Oil Mill Liquid Waste and Organic NPK on the growth and production of bitter melon. The study was carried out in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution, No. 113, Km 11, Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The study was conducted for 4 months from July to October 2019. The design used is a completely randomized factorial design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is PKS Liquid Waste consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 150, 300 and 450 ml / plant. The second factor is NPK Organic consisting of 4 levels of treatment, namely 0, 10.8, 21.6 and 32.4 g / plant, so that there are 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications and 48 experimental plots are obtained. Each plot consists of 4 plants and 2 sample plants. The latest observational data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA). If the F count is greater than the F table, then the BNJ test continues at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of PKS Liquid Waste and Organic NPK significantly affected flowering age, plant fruit weight, longest fruit length and largest fruit weight. The best treatment is 300 ml PKS Liquid Waste / plant and 21.6 g Organic NPK / plant. The main influence of PKS Liquid Waste is evident on all parameters. The best treatment is 300 ml PKS Liquid Waste / plant. The main effect of organic NPK is evident on all parameters. The best treatment is NPK Organic 21.6 g / plant.
