Abstract

Researchers obtain information that student mathematics learning outcomes are still relatively low, as well as the level of student understanding in solving a problem. Curriculum 2013 requires students to be able to solve problems independently. One learning model that fits the characteristics of the 2013 Curriculum is the Search Solve Create Share (SSCS) model that makes students the center of learning at each stage and requires students to think critically. Therefore, researchers are interested in using the SSCS learning model. This study aims to determine the effect of the SSCS model on mathematics learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA N 1 Langgam 2018/2019 school year. The form of this research is Quasi Experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of class XI of SMAN 1 Langgam with a sample consisting of two groups, namely experiment and control, which were selected using the Purpossive Sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out using test and observation techniques. Tests of student learning outcomes after being given treatment were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental class and the control class. Based on the results of posttest data analysis using non-parametric U Test (U-Test) so that the results obtained -Ztable ≤ Zhitung ≤ Ztable (-Ztable = -1.96; Zhitung = -1.60; Ztable = 1.96) this means Ho Ha accepted and rejected, so from this study it can be concluded that there was no significant effect of the Search Solve Create Share (SSCS) learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Langgam.
