Abstract

ABSRACT In carrying out the construction of civil engineering constructions built on peat soil, it is very important to pay attention to the strength of the peat soil support. This is in order to achieve maximum results in construction buildings that are built on peat soil. So it is necessary to improve the strength of the peat soil. This study aims to find out how the effect of the free compressive strength of peat soil with Enyime mixture. The original land was taken at the location of Buana Makmur Village Km 55, Dayung District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. Additives to Enzyime, and Urea, as well as CaCl2 from Bandung producers. This testing method refers to the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and SNI procedures. The specimens were made using a modified sondir with a cylindrical shape with a diameter of 3.64 cm and a height of 10.75 cm2 and were made following the standard compaction at an optimum moisture content of 157% as many as 12 specimens. The free compressive strength test was carried out after the addition of the enzyme with variations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20, and 25%. The data obtained from the test results are processed in the form of tables and graphs according to the version of enzyime addition. The results of the physical specification of the original soil show that the land in the village of Buana Makmur Km 55, Dayun District, Siak Regency is the original soil type with a moisture content of 407.5% and specific weight (Gs) = 1.3. From the test results, the free compressive strength of the sample of the original soil sample with a mixture of enzyime variations at a percentage of 0% = 0.33 kg / cm2, 5% = 0.41 kg / cm2, 10% = 0.45 kg / cm2, 15% = 0.38 kg / cm2, 20% = 0.37 kg / cm2, and 25% = 0.33 kg / cm2. The highest compressive strength value is found in the addition of 10% cementation solution of 0.45 kg / cm2 from the original soil sample specimen whose free compressive strength value is 0.33 kg / cm2. The effect of the addition of enzyme reagents produces a higher compressive strength in the mixture of 15% and a decrease in soil compressive strength in the mixture of 20% to 25%.
