Abstract

Kepenuhan District is one of the FFB producing sub-districts in Rokan Hulu Regency. This study aims to determine (1) Farmer Characteristics (2) Marketing Institution Channels, Marketing Functios, Marketing Costs, Marketing Profits and Farmer‟s Share of Palm Oil FFB in Kepenuhan District, Rokan Hulu Regency (3) Margin received by Marketing Institutions and Marketing Efficiency of Palm Oil FFB in Kepenuhan District, Rokan Hulu Regency. This study used a survey method which was conducted from July 2020 to December 2020. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis. Sampling was carried out by stratified random sampling, samples were taken from the 5 largest cillages in Kepenuhan District, Rokan Hulu Regency. The villages that were used as research sites were Central Kepenuhan Village, Western Kepenuhan Village, Great Kepenuhan Village, East Kepenuhan Village, Western Kepenuhan Mulya Village. The number of samples of farmers is 50 people, 5 middlemen, 1 wholesaler and 1 palm oil mill. The results showed that the average age of farmer was 46 years, the length of education was 12 years, the experience of farming was 14 years, and the family was 4 people. The marketing institutions involved in the marketing of FFB are farmers, collectors/middlemen, wholesalers, KUD, and Palm Oil Mills. FFB marketing channel consists of 4 channels. Channel I : Farmers - collectors/middlemen – Factory, Channel II : Farmers – Wholesalers (Veron) – Factory, Channel III : Farmers – KUD – Factory and Channel IV : Farmers – Factory. Not all marketing agencies perform overall marketing functions. Farmer marketing functions include sales function, capital function and market information function. The marketing functions of collectors/middlemen, wholesalers and quads include the purchasing function, sales function , transportation function, standardization function, risk-taking function, capital function and market information function. Marketing costs on channel I Rp. 152.5/Kg, Channel II Rp. 135.84/Kg, channel III Rp. 135.00/Kg and channel IV Rp. 126.68/Kg. Channel I profit Rp. 130.02/Kg, channel II Rp. 110.65/Kg, channel III Rp.37.16/Kg, channel IV Rp. 157.64/Kg. Farmer‟s share on channel I 78.38%, channel II 82.68%, channel III 85,50%, channel IV 85.79%. Channel I Marketing margin Rp. 282.51/Kg, channel II Rp. 246.48/Kg, channel III Rp. 160.16/Kg, channel IV Rp. 284.32/Kg. Palm oil marketing efficiency (FFB) which is stated to be the most efficient is marketing channel IV which is 6.33%, the second is marketing channel III which is 6.74%, the third is marketing channel II which is 6.82% and the fourth is marketing channel II. Marketing channel I that is equal to 7.61%.
