Abstract

Ari Riyanto (174110198) Application of Ketapang and Titonia Leaf Compost Fertilizers as Organic Materials to Increase Growth and Production of Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau. Pekanbaru. For five months starting from September 2020-January 2021. The purpose of the study was to determine the interaction effect of ketapang leaf compost and titonia as organic matter in increasing the growth and production of shallots. The design used was a completely randomized design consisting of 2 factors, namely Factor (K) and Factor (N) consisting of 4 levels so that there were 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications, obtained 48 experimental units with a total of 1,200 plants. Each experimental unit consisted of 25 plants per plot and 10 plants were used as samples. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves per clump, age of harvest, number of tubers per clump, wet weight of tuber per clump, wind dry weight of tuber per clump, tuber shrinkage. The data were analyzed statistically and continued with the further test of Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results of this study by the interaction of the combination of ketapang and titonia leaf compost were not significantly different from all observation parameters except for the tuber shrinkage parameter of shallots with the best combination found in the K3N3 treatment of 1.5 kg/plot of ketapang leaf compost and 2.25 kg/plot of titonia compost. . The main effect of ketapang leaf compost has a significant effect on all observation parameters, with the best treatment being the K3 treatment. The main effect of titonia compost has a significant effect on all observation parameters, with the best treatment found in the N3 treatment.
