Abstract

ABSTRACT Muhammad Sahroni. 2021. Motivation of Class XI Students in Participating in Physical Education Learning Activities at SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru The purpose of this study was to determine the level of motivation of class XI students who took physical education learning at SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population of this research is students of class XI SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru, amounting to 344 students. The sample technique used was quota sampling with a sample size of 34 students. The motivational indicators in the questionnaire are divided into 10 indicators, namely: 1) following Physical Education learning in the field, 2) training at home / outside school, 3) attitudes towards movement difficulties in Physical Education learning, 4) efforts to overcome physical education material difficulties, 5) habits in following Physical Education lessons, 6) enthusiasm in following PBM Physical Education, 7) desire to excel in Physical Education lessons, 8) Qualification of Physical Education lesson results, 9) persistence in practicing Physical Education material, 10) Using opportunities outside of Physical Education lesson hours. The number of initial statements is designed for 40 statement items and after the validity test becomes 27 statements. The results of this study were the motivation of class XI students in participating in physical education learning activities at SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru with an average of 79% in the good category.
