Abstract

This research was conducted for 30 days in February-March 2022 at the Laboratory of Fish Seed Center (BBI) Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau. This study aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of cherry leaf extract against the growth of A. salmonicida, E. ictaluri and E. tarda and to determine the good concentration of cherry leaf extract to inhibit the growth of A. salmonicida, E. ictaluri and E. tarda bacteria. This research is included in descriptive and experimental research in vitro. This research was conducted with 5 levels of treatment with 2 replications. The control consisted of a positive control using oxytetracyline (30ug/ml) and a negative control using metanol as a solvent. Phytochemical test results showed that the active compounds contained in cherry leaf extract include saponins, flavonoids, phenolics (tannins) and terpenoids/steroids. The results of the antibacterial activity test of cherry leaf extract against the growth of pathogenic bacteria, showed that the cherry leaf extract at concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% showed inhibition zones against pathogenic bacteria.bacteria A. salmonicida the 50% concentration was the most effective to inhibit the growth of E. ictaluri and the 30% concentration was the most effective to inhibit the growth of E. tarda.
