Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the contribution of arm muscle strength and balance to the results of discus throwing male students in class VIII A of SMP Negeri 2 Tapung. The type of research used in this research is to use correlation research. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Tapung, while the sampling technique in this study used porposive sampling, so the sample in this study amounted to 15 people. The tests used in this study were push ups, balance and discus throwing tests. From the results of tests carried out on male students of class VIII A SMP Negeri 2 Tapung, the results obtained are that there is a contribution between arm muscle strength and discus throwing results of 30.69%, there is a contribution between balance and discus throwing results of 4.66%. and there is a contribution of arm muscle strength and balance to the results of discus throwing by 20.61%.
