Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rice husk and broiler manure planting media on the early seed germination of longan (Dimocarpus longan Lour.) nurseries. This research was carried out at the Matanaga Farm, Pulau Birandang Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency, Riau. This research was carried out for 3 months, starting from June to August 2021. The design used was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the Rice Husk Planting Media which consists of 4 levels, namely: 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 kg/alluvial soil. The second factor is Chicken Manure which consists of 4 levels, namely: 0, 20, 30 and 40 g/polybag. There are 16 treatment combinations. Each combination was repeated 3 times to obtain 48 experimental units. The experimental unit consisted of 6 plants, 3 of which were sampled randomly in each experimental unit so that there were 288 plants. Parameters observed were: age of emergence of plumules, percentage of germination, plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root volume and leaf area. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA). If the calculated F obtained is greater than the F table, then proceed with further testing for Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. The interaction of rice husk and broiler manure was significant for all observation parameters. The best treatment dose was 0.4 kg/soil and 40 g/polybag. The main effect of the dose of rice husk was real on all parameters of observation. Best Treatment Dose 0.4 kg/soil. The main effect of the dose of broiler manure was real on all observation parameters. The best treatment was the dose of 40 g/polybag.
