Abstract

This study aims to determine the aesthetic value of Noguang music in Pulau Padang Village, Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. The theory used by Djelantik (1999:17) and Braginsky in Idawati (2013:112-115). Djelantik theory discusses the value of object beauty which includes form, weight, and appearance, while Braginsky's theory in Idawati discusses the value of subject beauty which includes the scope of beauty, scope of benefit, and spiritual sphere. The approach used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative data. The collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and data display. Subjects needed in this study amounted to 12 people. The results of the research on the value of Noguang music have the value of the beauty of the object as follows: 1) the value of form can be seen from the shape of the musical instrument and the place of execution. 2) the value of the weight or content of Noguang's music can be seen from the atmosphere, ideas or ideas, messages, and the full score of the song. 3) the value of Noguang's musical performance can be seen from the time and implementation. Noguang music has the value of subject beauty which is obtained based on the assessment and experience felt by the actors and music lovers themselves which include 1) the scope of beauty can be seen from the meaning of the song in Noguang music. 2) the scope of benefits can be seen from the benefits of Noguang music. 3) the spiritual scope can be seen from the spiritual values contained in the songs on Noguang music.
