Abstract

The needs for oil in Indonesia is increasing from year to year, but is inversely related to petroleum production. One way to overcome this problem is by using EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery). This method aims to increase oil production by means of draining oil remaining in the reservoir. KLM field is mature fields with fluid type heavy oil located in Riau Province. One of the problems of this field is to weaken the power of the reservoir, as well as oil viscosity is high. So the decline in oil production. It has a chance to do EOR methods, EOR methods one can use is the injection of CO2. Because the screening criteria of the method are eligible for application in the field KLM. Before the injection of CO2 is done, it is very important to know the amount of the minimum miscibility pressure (MMP). The method used to determine the amount of the value of MMP in this study is the method of numerical simulation of onedimensional (1-D) and equation of state (EOS). Both methods are faster and more efficient and acceptable accuracy. The results show the magnitude of the value of MMP for pure CO2 gas injection using the equation of state (EOS) obtained at 2362 psi, while for the numerical simulation method one-dimensional (1-D) of 2430 psi. This research shows that a mixture of CO2 gas with nitrogen, ethane and methane gas can increase the value of MMP, while a mixture of CO2 gas with propane can reduce the value of MMP with the same composition. This study also showed the difference in acquisition of MMP values from the two methods used ranged between 2.80%. The effect which shows a significant increase is in the mixture of CO2 gas and nitrogen gas, this gas mixture can increase the MMP value by 280.50%. As for the mixture of CO2 gas with propane gas can reduce the MMP value significantly by 41.75%. .
