Abstract

Utilization of bamboo is more focused on the use of stems and roots only. Whereas bamboo leaves are not utilized well. Petung bamboo leaves have many benefits in the field of construction because petung bamboo leaves have good silica (Si) content. Fly ash petung bamboo leaves contain silica, alumina and calcium which are pozzolanic so they can slow the binding time of the cement and can increase the strength of the drilling cement. It is known that silica derived from bamboo leaves is amorphous and shows good pozzolanic properties and high pozzolanic activity. The strength of the cement can be increased by adding additives which can increase the strength of the cement but this method can increase cementing costs. This research was conducted on compressive strength and shear bond strength testing using additives fly ash petung bamboo leaves with a concentration variation of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, 12.5% and 15% BWOC. Making a cement suspension is done by mixing water, bentonite, polypropylene glycol, CaCO3, and petung bamboo leaf fly ash using a mixer, after that it is poured in a mold and allowed to stand in a water bath. Replanting is done for 24 hours with a temperature of 60oC. Strength testing and shear bond strength are used using hydraulic pressure. The results showed that the strength of cement increased with fly ash. The composition of petung bamboo leaf fly ash results in optimal compressive strength and shear bond strength obtained with the addition of 10% BWOC and when the addition is continued the strength of the cement will decrease. The compressive strength values obtained in the composition of 10% BWOC addition were 1388.89 psi and shear bond strength of 129.74 psi.
