Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF PARENTS' ATTENTION ON THE CHARACTER OF THE CLASS V STUDENTS' DISCIPLINE AT SDN 143 PEKANBARU Syintia Novianti 176911027 Thesis of Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program FKIP Islamic University Riau Pembimbing : Dea Mustika, S.Pd., M.Pd ABSTRAK This research is motivated by the problem of the disciplinary character of the students of SDN 143 Pekanbaru which is still relatively weak such as there are still many violations committed by students while at school. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto research design. The population of this research is class V, which consists of 60 students. While the sample of this study used a 5% sampling technique, the research sample amounted to 30 students from class V. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, and documentation. Instrument testing uses validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques use descriptive analysis and prerequisite tests, namely normality test, linearity, hypothesis testing in the form of simple linear regression test using the conditions Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Based on the data processing of the research results with a sample of 30 students at SDN 143 Pekanbaru, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between parental attention to the discipline character of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 143 Pekanbaru. In other words, the proposed hypothesis is accepted, namely Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. As for the total effect, it is 68.1% with a positive effect. This means that the better parental attention to students will affect the better the character of students' discipline in learning.
