Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the news framing of the Indonesian government's policy not to lock down related to Covid-19 on the editions of Detik.com from March 14, 2020 to March 24, 2020 and Kompas.com editions from March 14, 2020 to March 24, 2020. Each media certainly has different glasses. in writing his point of view. By comparing the news published by detik.com and kompas.com, we can find out how the two media framed an event. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method using the Robert n Entman model framing analysis tool in which the Entamn analysis tool has four elements of analysis, namely define problem, diagnose causus, make moral judgment, treatment recommendation. The results of this study show that detik.com and kompas.com are equally pro with the policy taken by the Indonesian government not to lock down, it can be seen from the many sources of information from the government who always quote President Jokowidodo's words not to lock down. The reason why there was no lockdown was also explained by the two media for the same reason, namely the economic sector so that the government preferred physical distancing policies. Detik.com and kompas.com also reported news that was neutral, but news that was contradictory was only reported by detik.com.
