Abstract
This study aims to improve the learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes of students of class VIII.3 of Tri Bhakti Pekanbaru junior high school through the application of Brainstorming learning techniques. The form of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII.3 3 of Tri Bhakti Pekanbaru junior high school totaling 30 students with heterogeneous academic characteristics and abilities. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive data analysis in the form of qualitative analysis using observation sheets and quantitative data analysis namely student learning outcomes test data. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the number of students who reached KKM 78 increased from the basic score of 5 students, the first cycle was 11 students and the second cycle was 16 students or in the percentage of 16.67%, 36.67% and 53.33%. High category students (78-97) experienced an increase in daily tests I and daily tests II of the basic scores and low category students (18-47) groups decreased in daily tests I and daily tests II of the basic scores. So it can be concluded that the application of Brainstorming learning techniques can improve the process and improve mathematics learning outcomes of Grade VIII.3 students 3 of Tri Bhakti Pekanbaru junior high school in the 2018/2019 academic year.
