Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of fermented palm oil and tofu dregs on the survival of maggots. Completely randomized design woth 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely P1 : palm kernel meal (PKM) (100%), P2: palm kernel meal (PKM) (75%) + tofu dregs (25%), P3 : palm kernel meal (PKM) (50%) + tofu dregs (50%), P4 : palm kernel meal (PKM) (25%) + tofu dregs (75%) and P5 : tofu dregs (100%). The results obtained the best combination of media P2 with a survival rate of 81.33%, weight of 0.37 g and length of 0.59 cm. From the results of the protein content test, the highest maggot protein was obtained at P1 of 32.95%. While the measurement of maggot media obtained a temperature of 27- 39oC, pH 6.9-7 and humidity of 60-75%.
