Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of arm muscle power to the chest pass results of male students in extracurricular basketball games at SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. This type of research is correlational research. The population in this study were male students in extracurricular basketball games at SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru, amounting to 15 people. The sampling technique was total sampling, thus the number of samples was 15 people. The instrument used is a two-handed medicine ball put test and a basketball chest pass test. From the calculation of the product moment correlation (r xy) it is found that the calculated r value (rxy) is 0.143. The result of the comparison is the calculated r value > r table. From table r, the calculated r value with df = 13 with an error rate of 5% is 0.514. The result of the calculation of the coefficient of determination is 2%. The conclusion in this study is that there is no significant contribution of arm muscle power to the chest pass ability of extracurricular basketball games at SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru with a percentage of only 2%.
