Abstract
Framing Analysis in the Case Study of Rachel Vennya's News Ran Away from Quarantine at the Athlete's House on Kompas.Com Online Media (11-16 October 2021 Edition) Reni Gustia 189110209 This study aims to reveal the framing formed by the online media Kompas.com regarding the news of a celebrity, Rachel Vennya who ran away during quarantine at Wisma Atlet on the 11-16 October 2021. According to Kompas.com Rachel Vennya, escape from Wisma Atlet Pademangan, began upon her return from America when it was discovered that Rachel Vennya had not followed the quarantine procedures that must be followed after traveling from abroad. This is confirmed by the circular letter of the Covid-19 task force number 2021 on international travel health protocols during a pandemic. At this time, the online media is able to share information or news very quickly. And also the online media can frame and construct events and issues into news according to the ideology and point of view of the media. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a framing analysis approach from Robert N. Entman, which has four elements of analysis, namely, Define Problem, Diagnose Cause, Make Moral Judgment, and Treatment Recommendation. While the data collection technique that the author uses is documentation, and the data analysis technique used is framing analysis based on the Robert N. Entman model. The data from this study were sourced from 5 news stories taken from the 11-16 October 2021 on the online media kompas.com. The results of this study indicate that kompas.com's presentation the news is very balanced and impartial to anyone, because the TNI personnel involved in the case are also discussed, and the latest reports regarding the continuation of the Rachel Vennya case are also continuously updated by kompas.com media and are complete from various sources that appear in the new
