Abstract

ABSTRACT The quality of service provided by PDAM Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City to consumers seems to be still a serious obstacle and not in accordance with what consumers want but far from consumer expectations in getting the right to clean water that is used for the lives of customers or consumers. not in accordance with the rights of consumers as stated in Article 4 paragraph 3 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, to increase consumer satisfaction there must be serious action to overcome these problems in order to make it more of a strength in achieving all consumer desires that should be obtained by customers or consumers, the number of complaints from the community must make all these complaints respond properly and not wait which has an impact of just wasting time because there is no quick response by PDAM Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City. As for what makes the problems in this research are as follows, namely how the legal protection efforts are given by consumers of clean water for the services of PDAM Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City in terms of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, and what efforts must be made by consumers clean water for the poor service of PDAM Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City in terms of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. This study uses the Legal Research Method Observation research or by using a survey. Research directly goes down to the field to collect data that is used as material in research. In this study, the authors obtained information from respondents by conducting direct interviews. This research was conducted in the area of the Tirta Siak Drinking Water Company, Pekanbaru City. The respondents of this study were the Head of the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City, Employees of the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City, and the clean water consumers of the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Siak Pekanbaru city. Based on the research, it was found that the legal protection efforts given to clean water consumers for the services of the Tirta Siak Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) in Pekanbaru City were to carry out several efforts consisting of the Installation Stage, Service Stage, Complaint Stage, and Action. And Efforts by Consumers of Clean Water for Poor Services of Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City are by making several efforts consisting of Complaints, Getting Their Rights by Consumers, and Compensation or Compensation.
