Abstract
Aggressive behavior is a violence act to hurt others or damage objects verbally or physically. One that influences aggressive behavior is family functioning. This study aims to determine the relationship between family functioning and aggressive behavior at public senior high school in Pekanbaru. The hypothesis in this study states that there is a negative and significant relationship between family functioning and aggressive behavior on adolescents at public senior high school in Pekanbaru. The number of subjects in this study is 243 people. The data collection technique in this study uses purposive sampling. Meanwhile, the instrument for data collection uses scale of family functioning and scale of aggressive behavior. The data analyzed by using product moment correlation analysis. Based on the data analysis test, the correlation coefficient value is -0.253 with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). This shows that there is a significant negative relationship between family functioning and aggressive behavior on adolescents at public senior high school in Pekanbaru. Means, the higher the family functioning, the lower the aggressive behavior, and vice versa.
