Abstract
ABSTRACT Language is a very important means of communication in people's lives. Indonesia as a country inhabited by people of diverse backgrounds has a unifying language, namely Indonesian. Intrinsic elements are the elements that make up the literary work itself, an important element understood by students in literary learning. By understanding the intrinsic elements, students are expected to be able to find what the writer wants to convey in his literary work. The problem discussed in this study is how the ability of class XI students of SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota in identifying intrinsic elements consisting of (a) plot, (b) conflict, and (c) characterization of drama texts. This study aims to obtain information and data about the ability of class XI students of SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota. The population in this study were 49 grade XI students of SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota. The sample used was a random sample. The method used is descriptive method and quantitative approach. The theory used is the theory of the School Package Book. The technique used is the observation and test results of this study are from the aspect of the flow is classified as very good with an average (95.40), from the aspect of conflict classified as Very Good with an average (82.44), and from the characterization aspect is classified as Very Good with an average (92.85). The author recapitulated all values identifying the intrinsic elements of drama texts with a total of 4310 out of 49 students who were sampled as an average of 87.95 categorized as Very Good.
