Abstract

Professional teachers certainly don't just use textbooks. Perception is a person's view of objects, events that have been observed. The author found a difference in perceptions of textbooks including teachers having difficulty understanding the material and there was also irrelevance between the curriculum and textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The problem in this study is How is the Teacher's Perception on the Feasibility of Indonesian Language Textbooks for Grade XI of High Schools issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture in Siak Kecil District? The purpose of the study was to describe, analyze and interpret the Perception of Teachers in the Siak Kecil Subdistrict on the appropriateness of the contents of Indonesian language textbooks in class XI of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative approach. The theory used in this research is to use the theory of Boox Writing Text proposed by Masnur Muslich and the theory of the study of Indonesian textbooks by Henry Guntur Tarigan. The population in this study were the teachers of SMA N 1 Siak Kecil, SMA N 2 Siak Kecil and SMK N 1 Siak Kecil which in total amounted to 5 teachers and the sample used by the author in this study was a saturated sample, ie the entire population was used as a sample. To collect data the author uses observation techniques and questionnaire techniques, after that distributing questionnaires to the teacher and then the data are analyzed. From the data analyzed the author gets the average number of respondents' answers to the suitability of the description of the material with IC and BC in Indonesian textbooks totaling 176 (88%) seen from the assessment criteria including the Very Good (SB) criteria, the average number of answers respondents in the accuracy of the material in Indonesian textbooks amounted to 150 (86%) located in the SB assessment criteria (Very Good), the average number of respondents' answers on learning support material in Indonesian textbooks was 236 (86%) located in the criteria SB assessment (Very Good). Thus, Teachers' Perceptions of the Eligibility of Indonesian Language Textbook Class XI High School Issues from the Ministry of Education and Culture in Siak Kecil Sub-district total a total score of 187.3 with (87%) in the Very Good category (SB).
