Abstract

This research is motivated by the diversity of components of meaning in the greeting words in BMDK and researchers from the speaker area so that in addition to simplifying the research, researchers want to elevate the position of BMDK to be known by the wider community. In a society that shows the varied use of greetings in the Kuansing area. Each region has its own language in communication between each other. Every language difference depends on first language speakers or first language speakers and each language has its own characteristics. Component is a manifestation of a set of word unit meanings. The sematic component (semantic feature, semantic property, or semantic marker) teaches that each lexical word or element consists of one or the meaning of the lexical element. The problem in this research is What is the Meaning Component of Greetings in Malay in the Kuantan Singingi Dialect (BMDK)? The purpose of this study was to find out about the components of meaning in the greeting words in the Malay Language of the Kuansing Region (BMDK) related to the language patterns of the Kuansing Regional community. The theory used is the theory put forward by Abdul Chaer (2009), Djajasudarma (2012), Mahsun (2007), Putu Wijana (2015), Karsinem (2015), Sugiyono (2018), Jamilin Tinambunan (2017). The population of this study is all words used in the Sapaan word in the Malay dialect of Kuantan Singingi. The sample of this study are words that are included in the components of meaning in the Sapaan word in the Kuantan Singingi dialect Malay. The methodology used in this research is descriptive, type of field research, and qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were Interview Techniques and Audio-Visual Record Techniques. The results of this study are the meaning components of kinship greetings namely in "Blood / Descendants" totaling 15 and the greeting words "marital relations" totaling 17. The components of meaning in non-kinship greetings namely in "adat" amounted to 8 and in "religion" totaling 8.
