Abstract

Abstract THE IMPACT OF CRIMINAL NEWS ON THE LEVEL OF ANXIETY OF HOUSEWIVES IN SUNGAI PAGAR VILLAGE THROUGH THE SERGAP CRIMINAL NEWS PROGRAM AT RCTI   Dicky Dwi cahya 149110218 Sergap criminal news program is one of the criminal news programs in Indonesia and aims to deliver criminal news that occurs in Indonesia in an actual and reliable manner. This research aims to find out the influence of sergap crime news shows on the anxiety of housewives in the river Pagar. The selection of SERGAP news program is due to the high interest watched by housewives in sungai Pagar village, as evidenced by the data that shows that there are 110 people out of 115 respondents who watch SERGAP crime news shows more than 3 times a week and 107 people who watch this show to the end This study uses the theory of Cultivation which explains that watching television can have an influence on the audience. The method used in this study is quantitative meyode by distributing questionnaires to housewives in sungai Pagar village. With a sample count of 115 people. This study showed the rhitung value resulted in 0.193 > r table 0.154, and that the Sig value. (2-tailed) between the criminal news variable and the anxiety variable is 0.038 < 0.05, which means there is a significant correlation between the two variables. So based on the results of this study, it was found that the impact of criminal news shows on the level of anxiety of housewives in the village of sungai pagar, although the level of strength of the correlation between criminal news variables and anxiety is very weak, which is at the figure of 0.193.
