Abstract

ABSTRACT Reading is a process carried out and used by the reader to obtain a message, which the writer wants to convey through the media of words / written language. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Cerenti to analyze the exposition text based on text structure and language. The location of the study was Class X students of SMAN 1 Cerenti. The population in the study were students of Class X of SMAN 1 Cerenti in the 2019/2020 Academic Year, totaling 209 students, consisting of 7 classes. While the sample in this study amounted to 118 students using random sampling techniques. The results of the study explain that the hypothesis in this study is accepted where the ability to analyze exposition texts based on structure with thesis assessment, arguments and conclusions are in good category, while the ability to analyze exposition texts based on linguistics with thesis assessment, arguments and conclusions are already in very good categories. So the conclusion in this study where the ability to analyze exposition text in class X students of SMAN 1 Cerenti is already in the good category.
