Abstract

ABSTRACT THE STRATEGIES OF ISLAMIC STUDIES TEACHERS IN DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ LEARNING CREATIVITY IN CLASS 6 AT AL-RASYID ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN PEKANBARU CITY ADELLYA PRATIWI 162410127 This study is motivated by the strategies of Islamic Studies teachers in developing students’ learning creativity. This study is very important because it tries to describe the strategies of Islamic Studies teachers in developing students’ learning creativity in class 6 at Al-Rasyid Elementary School in Pekanbaru city. This study will contribute to the education literature because there are some signs of education problems, such as: some students are not brave enough to ask questions to the teachers about lessons that they do not understand, some students are less able to express their ideas about the problems studied in class, some students lack of curiosity about the lessons, and some students are less able to provide alternative ideas when the teachers ask their opinions about the lessons. The aim of this study is to find out the strategies of Islamic Studies teachers in developing students’ learning creativity in class 6 at Al-Rasyid Elementary School in Pekanbaru city. The type of this study is qualitative research with a case study approach. The data collection technique is through interviews. The main informants are the teachers of Islamic Studies for students in class 6, they are Ustadz Ahmad Purnama S.HI, and Ustadz Herian Tomi, S.Pd.I and the supporting informant, that is the Principal of the school, Pupung Safari Muslim, S.E. The data processing and analysis techniques used in qualitative research are data cleaning, transcription, coding and categorization, and interpretation. The results of this study show that the strategies of Islamic Studies teachers in developing students’ learning creativity are: preparing teaching tools/media, preparing materials, approaching, understanding students’ characters, conducting experiments, giving instructions, discussing, applying HOTS, conducting evaluations, conducting challenges, providing literacy, multimedia learning, arranging seats, giving rewards and praise, using simple language, paying attention, maintaining interaction and communication with students, studying the students’ potential, growing the social spirit of students, muroja'ah al-qur'an, ice breaking, motivating, inspiring, being energetic and confident, innovating, updating information, mastering technology, having excellent skills and synergizing with parents. The suggestions of this study are: the educational institution in Riau Province is expected to make policy regarding the results of this study, the school is suggested to expand their forums, the Islamic Studies teachers are suggested to improve their teaching skills, the community should support the development of learning creativity, and other schools/readers can use the results of this study as a reference material to improve the strategy of Islamic Studies teachers in developing students’ learning creativity.
