Abstract

The research located at the Rokan IV Koto – Pasaman roadway and the lithology of slope is sandstone. The purpose of this research is to know the type and mitigation methods of slope failure using geotechnique, those are Stereographic analysis and Slope Mass Rating (SMR). The space limit of scanline has been determined with the stereographic analysis has a failure, that is Wedge. Based on RMR value, the category of the UCS value of slope is weak stone (2 – 25 Mpa). The average of RQD value is 44,875% caused by weathering class differences. The range of discontinuity is 82.5 – 185.7 mm with slightly rough surface and the dry slope condition. The average of RMR value is 33,87. Therefore, the classification of slope as Class IV (poor). Based on the RMR value and Stereographic analysis, the SMR value is 27,87 indicating the possibility of slope failure in the study area. The conclusion from this research is the slope categorized as class IV (poor) with unstable slope condition, the possible type of failure is wedge and several mitigation methods should be installed.
