Abstract

Administratively, the research area included Jalan Tuanku Tambusai - Jl Arengka, Pekanbaru city, Riau Province. Geographically the research area is located at 0 ° 30'0.79 "N 101 ° 24'57.88" E - 0 ° 30'0.16 "N 101 ° 24'53.17" E. The building foundation is an important part of a structure system, where its function as the transfer of loads from upper structures to the subsoil. Soil is important both as a construction material and as a load support. The purpose of this study was to determine the soil deformation that occurred on the Flyover of Tuanku Tambusai – Arengka, flyover Pekanbaru by using 2D Plaxis Method. Data collection in the field was done using sondir and SPT data testing. Soil characteristics were analyzed in the laboratory using, sieve analysis and atterbeg limit analysis. And 2D Plaxis Software has been used to processed the deformation model soil is classified into uniformity and poorly graded grain size, in general the soil layer in the study is peat / organic soil to soil sand. Plaxis 2D analysis result, shows relatively small deformation value with 1,382 cm. This value indicated small possibility of deformation when the instant load is given in the short period of time. Meanwhile, the structure is stable with almost no deformation occurrence for the long term period. The supporting foundation is well placing into the solid consistency and very dense soil layer.
